Honest Dodworth lodge
A miner was walking home one night with a few pints inside
him, decided to climb a lamp post for a bet.
Whilst up the lamp his mate asked him to look what time it was, out came the
watch he slipped and his watch stopped up the lamp post.
Being the worst for ware he forgot about the watch while the next morning.
Retracing his footsteps from the night before he found his watch still up the
lamp post,to which he shouted good old Honest Dodworth.
Now Dodworth for honesty has always been renowned. Our honesty lies deep, so
deep it cant be found .
We are versed in all the virtues and no one knows of crime, we always go to bed
at night and rise when we have time.
Our Dodworth men are sober, and they hate the sight of drink in other peoples
glasses, in there own they do not think of beer and wine and whisky, though they
sometimes take a cup, they always stop there drinking when there's nothing more
to sup.
